     We are excited that your daughter will be participating with us as a Rising Star.  She will participate onstage with the contestants and will be recognized during the competition.  The entry fee is $75.  Dress pageant dress of choice for Rising Star.

 

• What is a Rising Star?

Rising Stars is a mentoring program practiced by every official preliminary to the Miss Alabama pageant and is open to young ladies between the ages of 6 and 12 who are interested in learning more about the Miss Alabama and Miss Alabama’s Teen programs and the contestants who participates in it.  Rising Stars is a wonderful opportunity for girls to participate in the excitement of this program! We are thrilled to have your daughter as a Rising Star participant for the Miss Lake  Martin Competition. The goal of the Rising Star program is to give the Rising Stars  positive and strong female role models as they foster a relationship with the candidates  and learn more about the Miss America program. This program is also a way to help fund  scholarships which is a very important part of the Miss Lake Martin, Miss Alabama, and  Miss America Organizations.  

Rising Star participants will be featured onstage with the contestants during the Miss  Lake Martin Competition. Participants will spend time with the contestants, enjoy craft  time, and a pizza party lunch! The Rising Stars of the newly crowned Miss Lake Martin and Miss Lake Martin’s Teen will be announced on stage after crowning. The Miss Lake  Martin Rising Stars will also be able to participate with their title holders throughout the  year at events where possible.  

 

• How is my entrance fee used?

As an official franchisee of the Miss Alabama competition and part of the Miss America Organization- the largest source of educational scholarship money to young women- the goal of the Miss Lake Martin and Miss Lake Martin’s Teen is to offer educational scholarship awards to the preliminary winners.  Your money will go to this goal.

PLEASE NOTE:  

If a Rising Star does not already have a Candidate, she will add her name to a list that will  be put into a drawing at the end of the competition. 

If by chance the winner(s) do not have a Rising Star, one will be chosen by the winner(s)  by random drawing from the names of those Rising Stars who have added their name to  the list. If the winner(s) have a rising star that came to the competition with them, they  are automatically the rising star(s) for Miss Lake artin and Miss Lake Martin’s Teen.  

We understand many young girls have special relationship with their Miss and Teen  Candidates and they are not required to participate in the drawing at the end of the night.  It is entirely up to them. You will need to notify us when you arrive if you will not  participate in the drawing if your “assigned” Teen or Miss does not win the title of Miss  Lake Martin or Miss Lake Martin’s Teen.
